Take a tour of Santa Clarita’s best holiday lights courtesy of Santa Clarita Transit.

It’s that time of year again! There are many neighborhoods in the Santa Clarita Valley that go all out for the holidays,

Homestead Place

with neighbors getting together to light up entire streets with Christmas cheer.

Of course, getting around some of these neighborhoods occasionally poses a challenge, due to the popularity created by these decorated streets. This year, the City of Santa Clarita is offering to take residents on a trolley ride through some of the most popular holiday light events.

For two weekends in December, the trolley will be available beginning at 6PM, with more pickup times at 7:30PM and 8:45PM Friday and Saturday, December 11th and 12th, and again the following Friday and Saturday.  Continue reading

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to see both the Santa Clarita Valley AND the San Fernando Valley from the same place? Did you know that, on exceptionally clear days, you can catch a glimpse of the Los Angeles skyline and even the Pacific Ocean from the SCV? Continue reading

Those up for the challenge will encounter beautiful views and a bit of Santa Clarita history.

In our hectic daily lives, we sometimes overlook the beauty and history of our surroundings. While there are plenty of things to do here in Santa Clarita, sometimes it’s nice to take a step into nature and enjoy what makes this valley so great. The City of Santa Clarita has in recent years gone to great lengths to establish an organized system of trails and how to get to them. Their Hike Santa Clarita program offers plenty of information on our many trails, pathways, and hikes. Some very easy, and some more challenging. In this case, Elsmere Canyon is one of Santa Clarita’s best hiking loops, where you can enjoy a variety of terrain, incredible views of the valley, and even see some of the SCV’s past. Get your new year off to a refreshing start by joining in this annual event at the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center. City of Santa Clarita Approves Veterans Village

There are many New Year’s Day traditions. Many make an annual pilgrimage to see the Rose Parade. Some others, especially those from the South, believe it is good luck to eat a bowl of black-eyed peas. It’s also the day that many decide to either quit a bad habit, or take up a good one.

If you’ve fallen between the cracks and don’t have a New Year’s tradition of your own, how about this: Take a chilly waterslide all the way down into an unheated, and downright cold swimming pool at the 9th annual Arctic Chill Polar Bear Swim at the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center?

This is a fun and FREE event where the whole family can participate. Doors open at 8:45AM, with the swim beginning at 9AM. Coffee and hot chocolate are available for swimmers. Not the type to take a dunk in a frigid pool during the middle of Winter? Don’t worry, spectators are also welcome.

The Santa Clarita Aquatics Center is located at the Sports Complex in the Centre Point area of Santa Clarita (See address below). Aside from fun events like the Arctic Chill Polar Bear Swim, the center offers a variety of programs on three separate swimming pools, and also has locker rooms and concessions for your convenience.

Not a swimmer? No worries. The Santa Clarita Sports Complex has many other activities for youth and adults.

The George A. Carvalho Santa Clarita Sports Complex is an open facility with regularly scheduled events, two full size basketball courts, volleyball, racquetball and badminton, and it is open to the public at no cost. A free membership is required. It’s a great opportunity for young people and adults alike to get some exercise and some team spirit. Check the website for operating hours.

Natural rock formations have an incredible history, and are a great place to spend the day with the family.

Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park is a 932 acre park located in the Sierra Pelona Mountains in Agua Dulce, just north of the city of Santa Clarita.

The rock formations were formed by rapid erosion during uplift about 25 million years ago and later exposed by activity long the San Andreas Fault. The area is named for Tiburcio Vasquez, one of California’s most notorious bandits, who used these rocks to elude capture by law enforcement in 1873.

The area has been used as a shooting location for many films and television shows, including the original Star Trek series, and was used as the town of Bedrock in the live action movie version of The Flintstones.

Vasquez Rocks is a great place to spend the day with hiking and equestrian trails, picnic area, and fantastic views.

The trails give you access to sandstone formations, seasonal streams and riparian oak woodlands, as well as stands of cottonwood and native sycamore trees. Most are fairly easy to traverse, giving you a great way to spend the day with the entire family.

Client Testimonials
I had specific needs for my new home. Brandon was very patient with my unique situation and flexible when it kept changing. He showed me so many houses, but with little inventory, none of them were quite perfect or they had too much HOA or Mello Roos. Finally when we found The One, no HOA, no Mello Roos, it had been on the market for 4 days and I made an offer that morning. I was sure the sellers would give it to someone else but Brandon worked hard to make sure they accepted my offer and by that night, the house was mine. Had it not been for Brandon I would still be searching for a house because so far, there is still nothing better than mine.
